Rising Stars & Activate Players (Stage 1)

8 to 14 yrs

The Rising Stars classes include Acting, Singing and Dancing

The Rising stars have the opportunity to participate in:

• Creative writing
• Drama Improvisation, Devising & Script work
• Singing- increasing vocal technique and skills
• Dance routines to increase the range of movement, physical skills and confidence
• Perform in Shows and Events throughout the year. 
• Regular showcases are performed throughout the year each term for family and friends. 

Saturday: Rising stars (8-13yrs) 11-1pm at North Durham Academy, Stanley DH9 0TW

Saturday: Rising stars Activate Players Stage One (8-14yrs) 11-1.30pm at North Durham Academy, Stanley DH9 0TW

Wednesday: Rising stars class (8-14yrs) 5.30-7pm at Lanchester Community Centre DH7 0NT

Thursday: Rising stars Class (8-14yrs) 5.30-7pm at Witton Gilbert Community Centre, DH7 6TF

WHAT DOES A RISING STARS CLASS INCLUDE?- Rising stars classes cover Acting, singing and movement. We work on increasing the young performers skills and increase strength in vocal ablity and movement co-ordination as well as building on Drama and improvisation techniques. This group will always showcase what they have learnt each term in class showcases and then will be invited to perform in the Theatre once a year in a larger scale production.

WHAT DOES AN ACTIVATE PLAYERS CLASS INCLUDE? The Activate Players class will focus on working towards performing in a Musical Theatre show. They will work on vocal and dance skills and also some character and drama work. There will be opportunities to perform on a more regular basis. We also give the Activate Players the opportunity to audition for larger roles. If a student attends this class we do ask for a high level of commitment throughout the term. This is a higher intensity class
